About DevCarib

DevCarib is dedicated to the untold stories of development efforts being undertaken in the Caribbean; a platform to explore how and what efforts are being undertaken to reduce poverty, improve health and raise standards of living in our region.

News and commentary about the Caribbean is too often only related to poverty, tourism, failed economies and political corruption.

DevCarib helps to move the focus to the efforts we undertake.

DevCarib aims to bring a new angle to the discussion of how to bring development to our communities, by creating a platform for those that get involved in making a difference. Our hope is that by telling their stories and of those that their work impacts, we, as journalists, can help make an even bigger difference.

As we enter into the final years of working towards the Millennium Development Goals, much remains to be done to reach the targets. The stories that usually go untold need to be told; DevCarib is their platform.

It is About Giving Back

  • Journalism has a role in development
  •  News is about more than the obvious
  • Journalists can be catalysts for change

Visit DevCarib for properly conducted online, audio and visual, and not entirely uncritical reporting on the Caribbean development community. It is not just about news, but also about the people that the stories regard and impact. And, by enabling journalists to play their role of Catalyst, we hope to contribute to the development of Caribbean journalism at a whole.
